For a global fintech company scaling operations across London, India, and Germany, the brief demanded more than a furniture supplier it required a delivery partner capable of coordinating across multiple contractors, disciplines, and time zones without losing a day. DAS won the tender on the strength of both product and process: a customised OPTIMA Trader platform robust enough to handle the full range of trader and non-trader IT configurations, and a project operation with the experience to back it up. Working alongside main contractor Structure Tone, project managers Gardiner and Theobald, and cost managers Turner and Townsend, DAS delivered 481 OPTIMA Trader positions with T7 enclosures across London and 600 DATUM height-adjustable desks across India and Germany on time, to budget, from November 2022 to January 2023. The Delivery
DAS Business Furniture was appointed following a competitive tender, selected for a customised version of the OPTIMA Trader platform specified for its ability to adapt across trader and non-trader IT configurations without bespoke re-engineering at each position. The project was managed end-to-end by DAS: desk services, power and data coordination, IT integration, and installation scheduling across two of the busiest floors on site.
Gold Standard Mock-Up
Before installation began, DAS Business Furniture facilitated a pre-installation 'Gold Standard' mock-up, bringing together relevant suppliers and integrators to fully understand desk configuration, cable routes, and service coordination requirements. A single reference point for every discipline on site, eliminating ambiguity before it could become delay.
Detail Development
DAS worked directly with the client's in-house design consultant, the project architect, and the loose furniture supplier to develop a coordinated aesthetic across all desk products. This ensured that the OPTIMA and DATUM installations held together visually across three international locations.
Site Recovery and Schedule Management
Across two high-traffic, fast-moving floors in London, the DAS installation project manager and team maintained the build schedule through site delays, coordinating and re-coordinating to stay ahead of the IT installation team and deliver to the PC date with a VIP walkabout. Proactive programming, not reactive response.
OPTIMA ASCEND T7 Configuration (London)
The OPTIMA Trader with T7 enclosure is DAS's high-performance trading workstation, engineered for full-specification tower CPU loads and configurable across both trader and non-trader IT setups without compromising the desk footprint. Deployed here in 481 customised positions across London, with monitor arms, desktop power, and bespoke divider screens integrated throughout.
OPTIMA ASCEND T7 Enclosure
A large-format rise-and-fall enclosure housing tower CPUs rising and lowering with the desk to maintain cable management integrity and equipment access at every height setting. Selected for its versatility across both trader and non-trader IT configurations within a single consistent platform.
Monitor Arms
Monitor arms integrated into the OPTIMA desk system, supporting display requirements across trading and non-trading positions throughout the London floor.
Power and data
Desktop power modules built into the desk system, power and data at the worksurface without cable compromise.
Bespoke Divider Screens
Custom divider screens designed and manufactured by DAS Business Furniture to the aesthetic developed with the client's design consultant and project architect. A visual separation across the trading floor, coherent with the wider interior.
DATUM Height-Adjustable Desk (India & Germany)
600 DATUM height-adjustable desks installed across the client's offices in India and Germany: the same ergonomic sit-stand platform, consistently specified and delivered internationally as part of a single coordinated programme.
