Canopius Group operates at the complex end of global specialty (re)insurance. A business where precision, judgement, and sustained concentration define the working day. When they took space in the iconic 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London, DAS worked closely alongside Day 2 Interiors and HLW to deliver 126 DATUM open-plan sit-stand desks and 66 High-Focus sit-stand positions a workplace built to support every mode of working, from open collaboration to deep, uninterrupted focus.

DATUM Open-Plan & High-Focus Configurations
The DATUM is DAS Business Furniture's sit-stand desk platform for high-performance workplace environments. It’s ergonomic, cleanly detailed, and designed to integrate with the wider architectural intent. Specified here with Egger laminated tops for a considered aesthetic in keeping with the 22 Bishopsgate environment, and deployed in two distinct configurations: standard open-plan positions and High-Focus positions with fixed wrap-around screens. The same platform, engineered to serve two very different working modes.
Egger Laminated Work surface
DATUM work surfaces were manufactured with Egger laminate tops. This was an intentional specification choice to complement HLW's interior design intent rather than default to standard. The result is a desk that holds its own within a carefully designed workplace without competing with it.
Ergonomic Height Adjustment System
Both open-plan and High-Focus positions are height-adjustable, supporting sustained posture changes and ergonomic well-being across the working day. Consistent sit-stand performance across every desk type on the floor.
Inset Power and USB Charging
Power and USB charging are inset into the work surface flush, accessible, and clear of the desktop workspace. No surface clutter, no trailing cables at desk level.
Hinged Cable Tray Covers
Cable trays fitted with hinged covers, keeping infrastructure routed and contained without blocking access for servicing. Clean above the surface; organised below it.
High-Focus Configuration
The High-Focus positions share the same sit-stand platform as the open-plan desks, with the addition of wrap-around fabric screens that remain fixed as the desk rises and lowers maintaining separation at every height. Designed for staff who need quiet, concentrated working time without withdrawing to a closed pod or booth. Several High-Focus desks were manufactured to custom dimensions to integrate precisely with bespoke joinery pieces designed by HLW.
