LEGAL & POLICIES
Due to the volume of our annual turnover, DAS are not legally obliged to comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. However, despite this we seek to work with suppliers to identify and manage key areas of risk in our and their supply chain.
Our commitment is:
To ensure that we comply with the Modern Slavery Act, the International Labour Organisation’s core conventions and the UN Global Compact, as well as local labour laws and regulations
To ensure that our suppliers also adhere to the principles stated above
To raise awareness of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking through guidance and training to our employees and suppliers
DAS expects its suppliers:
To comply with the Modern Slavery Act, the International Labour Organisation’s core conventions and the UN Global Compact as well as local labour laws and regulations
To support and respect the culture, social, political and legal diversity of all societies and protect internationally proclaimed human rights
To uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining
To employ no child labour, keeping in line with minimum age employment laws within the countries where they operate
To declare themselves in agreement of prohibiting all kinds of forced, bonded and involuntary prison labour
To identify and specific areas of high risk and to understand the impact to our supply chain
To train and educate employees throughout their business, and associated supply chain, to understand the risks and implications of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking by a clear process for reporting and communicating unethical activity
To conduct frequent due diligence checks for those suppliers deemed to present a high risk
To continually plan and monitor their on-going commitment towards the ethos of Modern Slavery Act 2015
