DAS supports fundraising family to achieve £33,000
Teresa runs her 8th consecutive marathon, this year joined by her husband and son...
DAS has supported a local family throughout their amazing eight-years of marathon running, to help raise over £33,000 for 7 different charities.

Together, Teresa Peasgood, husband David and son Jack all completed the London marathon 2011 in an impressive time of 3 hours 42 minutes 52 seconds; raising £4,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC). This particular charity has a personal relevance to the family, alike all of the charities the Peasgoods have supported over the years. Two close friends have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis recently, in addition to several of Teresa’s patients who she has met through her work as a physiotherapist.
The London marathon this year was the first marathon for Jack who is turning 21 in September. Jack usually competes in triathlons and found it quite a challenge to fit in the marathon training around his University studies.
Teresa has run eleven marathons to date including every London marathon since 2004. In her first London marathon she raised an outstanding amount, in excessive of £6,000. Following this, David joined Teresa in running the New York marathon just six months later. Teresa’s fastest London marathon was in 2008, completing it in a time of 3 hours 26 minutes. Remarkably she matched the time the following year in Amsterdam.
Teresa first gained entry through a charity place for Cystic Fibrosis, raising over £6,000 in 2004. Due to the great time in which Teresa completed her first two London marathons, she has since managed to secure her place through “good for age”. A “good for age” place means you are guaranteed entry and do not have to go through the ballot or gain entry by running for a charity. Despite this Teresa has always opted to raise money for charity.
DAS is proud to support a fundraising family over the years to raise a huge sum of money for so many fantastic charities. Arthritis Research Council, Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre, Arthur Rank Hospice, Teenage Cancer Trust, Sick Children’s Trust/Sheffield Children’s Hospital, MEDICS and Cystic Fibrosis have all benefitted from the £33,000 raised so far. DAS would like to wish the Peasgood family good luck for the London marathon 2012.
